Vasquez-USA TODAY SportsThe Los Angeles Rams are 4-point home favorites over the New Orleans Saints in the NFL Week 16 TNF game on Thursday, December 21LA is 6-0 ATS in the club’s last six home games against New OrleansThe Saints haven’t won a game SU over the Rams in Los Angeles since 1994. Can they end that streak in the Saints vs Rams picks on Thursday?
Seeking an adjective to effectively describe the performance of the Los Angeles Rams (7-7, 8-5-1 ATS) when at home facing the New Orleans Saints (7-7, 4-9-1 ATS), dominance, is a word that immediately comes to mind. The oddsmakers have taken notice and installed LA as favorites in the Thursday Night Football Saints vs Rams odds.
Los Angeles has won and covered in six successive home games against New Orleans. That winning streak stretches back into the time when they were operating as the St Louis Rams. You have to go all the way back to 1994 to find a game in Los Angeles in which the Saints picked up a win over the Rams to take back home to the Big Easy.
Oddsmakers don’t see that happening this time. It’s LA that’s set as the 4-point home chalk in the Saints vs Rams odds.

Public Bettors Tailing Rams
The latest NFL public betting splits are in line with the recent history of this matchup. The Rams are pulling 85% of spread handle and 87% of moneyline handle.
Overall the Rams are 8-4 against the spread in the last 12 meetings with the Saints. Against all opponents, LA is 4-1 both straight up and ATS through the past five games. New Orleans is 1-0 ATS as an away underdog this season.
Neither the Rams (6-8) or Saints (4-10) are proving to be effective over plays during the current campaign. However, that factor is trending in the opposite direction of late for LA. The Rams are 3-1 to the over in their past four games.
In the odds to win Super Bowl, Los Angeles is the co-14th betting choice with a line of +10000. The Saints are at a betting line of +175 to win the NFC South in the NFL divisional odds.
Olave Back for New Orleans
The Saints were able to win 24-6 without WR Chris Olave last week, but that was at home against the pitiful New York Giants. Olave (ankle injury) is trending toward playing in this game and that could prove a big boost for the New Orleans offense.

The second-year WR is the club’s leading receiver. Olave is showing 72 receptions for 918 yards and four touchdowns on his stats sheet this season.
This week should provide a real test for the surging LA offense. The New Orleans defense hasn’t allowed a TD in the last two games while the Saints went 2-0 SU. They checked the Giants on 193 yards of total offense last week.

Rams a Scary Bunch
The health of key players on the LA offense was an issue in the early weeks of the season as the Rams began the campaign 3-6. However, everyone is healthy now, and that’s leaving a sick feeling in the pit of the collective stomachs of LA’s upcoming opponents.
Super Bowl champions just two seasons ago, the Rams have scored 149 points while going 4-1 over the past five games. That makes them the NFL’s #4 scoring offense over that span. QB Matthew Stafford is seventh in the NFL in QBR (62.8), eighth in passing yards per game (255.4) and 10th in TD passes (21).
The #Rams offense is now the 9th scoring offense in the NFL. They are top 3 in the last 4 games. They are 9th in total offense. 2nd in total offense over the last 4 games. They also are the 10th red zone scoring offense in the NFL.

Two years ago the NFL leader in receptions, receiving yards and TD catches, Rams WR Cooper Kupp was among the walking wounded at the outset of the season. He’s looking more like his old self of late. Kupp has produced consecutive games with at least eight receptions and 100+ receiving yards in the past two weeks and could be worth a play in Thursday’s Saints vs Rams props.
Package them with RB Kyren Williams (936 yards rushing, 11 overall TDs) and rookie sensation WR Puka Nacua (1,163 receiving yards, four TDs) and the Rams are putting a fright into any NFC top seed viewing them as a potential postseason opponent.
Saints vs Rams Prediction
While it’s true that the Saints have won two in a row, they did so at the expense of the Panthers and Giants, not exactly NFL powerhouse squads. Prior to those two games, New Orleans lost three straight and went 2-5 over seven games.
The Rams are a different animal. They’ve recently posted wins over the Browns and Seahawks, while forcing the Ravens to OT in Baltimore.
Saints vs Rams Picks: Rams -4 (-110)
TNF Record: 8-7-0
